I recently saw something on a reputable news website that has me appalled. There allegedly is some wheeling and dealing going on, and I would like to hear from you. But first a heads up, I’m going to keep the names of people and businesses out, in an attempt to drop or set aside any political leaning from the discussion. This is not a political issue for me. This is about what is good for the country and the economy.
It’s being reported that an American businessman, with ties to extremely high-placed executives in the federal government, has made contact with a foreign business entity, in order to instruct that foreign company on how to win infrastructure contracts that are anticipated in the United States. Obviously, the basic key to getting the most from your dozer investment is to keep it busy. That depends on projects being available and on your estimators’ ability to bid work successfully. But upstream from the work site, an equipment dealer and manufacturer have also put in many hours to make that dozer as productive as possible.
The operator plays an important part in this process. Equipment dealers, manufacturers, and even some large contractors provide operator training, and training is a vital part of running a productive dozer. “I feel like a conductor,” says Ted Civetta with a grin as he stands amidst the bustle of New York City and watches the seemingly choreographed movements of excavators and breakers in a pit 55 feet below him.
Civetta has earned a reputation as being one of the best foundation guys in the area. His grandfather started the business after emigrating from northern Italy in the 1920s.
